The Precious

We were visiting my parents this week, and Elliot desperately wanted my mom's mug. Unfortunately, the mug was filled with hot tea, and was breakable, so this was a no-go and I needed an alternative source of entertainment for my child. Since my mom keeps everything, especially items from my childhood, I was fairly certain it would be easy to find what I was looking for in her kitchen.

It went home with us that afternoon, and look:
It makes her the happiest girl in the whole world!

Adventures

Hello everyone! It's been a while! E has been busy lately having exciting adventures. In the past few weeks she:
Helped me pack up her newborn clothes ::sob::

Began working on her taxes

Discovered the joy of toilet paper

And mere moments later, the joy of wrapping paper

Met a really scary fish at Eli's house

Snuggled with her Daddy

Ate a taco

Started drinking

Discovered what is sure to be a life-long fear of horses

Borrowed Mommy's Iron Maiden shirt

And tasted the kitchen doorway

She also got her first two teeth! The bottom left tooth came in on Friday, and the top right popped through on Monday. The other top tooth looks like it will make an appearance any day now. Teething was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. She was a little fussy, but mostly she just wanted to sit on our laps and snuggle, which was delightful!

Yesterday's Cuteness

Now that the peanut pretty much has free reign of the whole house, I spend a good part of my day taking things away from her and removing her from awkward locations. Yesterday I decided that as long as she's not getting into something that could kill her, I'm just going to laugh and take pictures of whatever she's doing. Yesterday she:

Helped unload the dishwasher

Took a peek in the hamper

Unloaded her diapers
She also decided that dinnertime requires the use of not one, but two sippy cups. Because sometimes you feel like a straw, and sometimes the moment calls for a spout. You know how it goes.

So it appears I forgot to tell everyone that E is walking now. So, um, E is walking now! Here's proof!

New Clothes!!!

Check out the adorable clothes I got for E a few weekends ago! Old Navy was having a huge sale, and everything I bought was 99 cents!

Matt found this hoodie.

I picked this one.

And this is my favorite purchase. Big girl jammies!

E has discovered recently that she's not the only one in the house who likes toys. Since she loves putting things in anyone's mouth who will let her, she and Roy get along quite well. She picks up a toy, puts it in his mouth, squeals with delight, waits for him to drop it, and starts all over again.

And I can't leave without showing off these cake pops. I am so excited about them. The food markers I bought sucked, so I need to find better ones that will actually let me draw a straight line, but I think they're so cute even with the crappy markers. I'm helping my friend do a March Madness themed first birthday party for her son, and I am having so much fun with it!

I did a test run of E's smash cake for her party, and it turned out so cute! Her birthday dress also came in the mail this week, and it is perfect. I'm not going to share pictures until after her party though, so you'll either have to wait for the festivities or for the post that follows them. Sorry!

Hot Dog!!!

I know I mentioned in a previous post that the Nans is obsessed with the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Hot Dog Dance, but now she's really proven her love. As of today, her vocabulary officially consists of the words mama, dada, hi, bye, and hot dog.

I also realized that those of you without kids probably have no idea what I'm talking about. I myself had never heard the hot dog dance until a few weeks ago.

This song is now downloaded in my phone in case we need to do some emergency calming down while out and about.

Christmases #2, 2.5, and 3

Christmas #2 was at our house on Christmas morning, and I cannot tell you how great it was to wake up and not have to go anywhere. Usually we go to my parent's house in the morning, but this year we decided we were going to have our own little family Christmas with just the three of us and then have my family come to us a little later in the morning (Christmas 2.5-since we didn't actually go somewhere else, I'm not giving it it's own number).

We had so much fun watching our little peanut open her presents. She loved unwrapping them, and she loved the boxes, but we were actually surprised at how much she liked her presents too. We figured she'd mostly just play with the paper.

You'll notice that she's wearing different jammies for Christmas #2.5. This was not planned, but rather out of necessity, as she peed all over her previous set. She actually went to bed in yet another pair of Christmas jammies, but she leaked through those during the night. Don't worry, we've since gone up a size in diapers, and all is well. I'm just glad Matt's grandma sent E some Christmas jammies in the mail so she had an extra pair.

By Christmas #3, we were a little tired of being glued to the camera, so all we have are pictures of E and I just after we arrived at Matt's mom's.

Merry Christmas!!!!
